We are here to assist you navigate the world of small business ownership. Our clients represent a broad range of individuals and businesses. We work with:
- Owners of existing small businesses.
- Individuals looking to change careers and start their own business.
- Retirees looking to stay active, focused, and enjoy additional income.
- Anyone who wants to know more about the world of small business ownership.
In the past three years we have worked with over 2,000 individuals in consulting meetings and seminars. Clients and their consultants meet as many times as needed and there is never a charge for a meeting.
Our mission is to help our clients:
- Understand the world of small business operations and the criteria for success.
- Develop business plans to assess the reality and risks associated with their business idea and operations.
- Serve as an on-going mentor as they move forward with their plans and activity.
Rockland SCORE is part of a national association which is all volunteer, non-profit, and a resource partner with the US Department of Commerce, Small Business Administration (SBA). The SCORE Association has over 350 Chapters across the United States with more than 10,000 volunteers. Rockland SCORE, located in Spring Valley, New York, is staffed with volunteers from a variety of business backgrounds and are dedicated to assisting clients start their own business or helping solve problems for those already in business.
Individual private and confidential one hour counseling sessions are held during the day on Tuesday at our Spring Valley Office and on Friday at the Rockland County Economic Development Corporation Office in Pearl River. Evening counseling is available on Tuesday at Volunteer Counseling Services in New City. Appointments may be made right now on-line by clicking “Request a free counseling appointment” and scheduling an appointment at one of these locations. If necessary, you may schedule a counseling appointment by calling the SCORE Office (845) 426-1206 at any time. Leave a message including your name and phone numbers and a Counselor will call you back to arrange an appointment.
SCORE also has a Cyber Service, where Counselors from across the country will answer start up or business questions via the Internet. This service may be accessed through the SCORE Association web site: www.score.org.
